SC Ag Council Spring Quarterly Meeting New Technology in Agriculture – using cyberspace and outerspace technology on the farm

The spring quarterly meeting of the South Carolina Agricultural Council (SCAC) will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the SC Farm Bureau Office, 724 Knox Abbot Drive, Cayce, SC.

Registration begins at9:30 a.m.followed by the meeting at10:00 a.m.which will conclude with a catered lunch.  

The meeting will focus on “New Technology in Agriculture.”  Speakers will be – Jason Rodgers, Farm Manager at Titan Farms in Ridge Spring, SC and Robbie Weathers, Solutions Manager for Blanchard Equipment in St. Matthews, SC.  Topics will include variable rate application, yield monitoring, data management, agriculturally-related cell phone apps, operating irrigation systems by cell phone, and how tractors can call growers’ cell phones.

Deadline for advanced reservations of $8 for SCAC members is Friday, May 11, 2012.  Registration at the door or for non-members is $12 per person. The registration fee includes the catered lunch.
