America’s Favorite Farmers Markets

Posted on July 21, 2010. Filed under: General Information |

Farmers markets play a critical role in keeping farmers on the land. Keeping farms viable by providing them with a venue where they can provide their much sought after products is one of the best ways to save the land that sustains us.

American Farmland Trust is sponsoring a contest to promote the value of farmers markets in communities and to help make the connection between fresh local foods and the local farms and farmland that supply them.

Want to know how South Carolina is doing in the America’s Favorite Farmers Markets™ contest? Check out the up-to-the-minute view of the top five markets with the most votes in all 50 states (and the District of Columbia) at to see how South Carolina is doing. Vote for your favorite markets (you can only vote for each market once, but you can vote for as many markets as you want). It is not too late for farmers markets to join the contest. If you can’t find your farmers market on the map, ask your market manager to enroll in the contest.

Thank you for all that you do to support local farms and local farmers markets!
